This mountain Gorilla tracking adventure takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. It’s a tropical rainforest that is home to the mountain Gorilla located in the Western District of Kanungu. The park has almost half of the total population of mountain gorillas in the whole World and provides the best experience of mountain gorillas tracking

Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Depart Kampala for Bwindi

• Depart Kampala at 8:00 am
• Stopover at the Equator for photography
• Scenic drive through Western Uganda (rolling hills, banana plantations, Ankole cattle)
• Lunch and refreshments in Mbarara town
• Drive past Kabale and check-in at the lodge in Bwindi

We start our journey at 8:00 am from the pick up point driving to the western part of Uganda in search of mountain gorillas. First stopover at the Equator for photography

Enjoy the view of the rolling hills of Western Uganda as well as the beautiful banana plantations and long horned Ankole cattle as we drive on. Stop over in Mbarara town for lunch and refreshments.

Drive past the town of Kabale, finally entering Bwindi for check in at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

• Early breakfast and packed lunch
• Ranger briefing at park headquarters (8:00 am)
• Gorilla tracking (30 minutes to 5 hours)
• Encounter mountain gorillas in their natural habitat
• Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening lodge check-in

Have early breakfast and leave with parked lunch, reporting for briefing at the park headquarters by 8:00 am.
Gorilla tracking may last between 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the movement of the particular family that day. One needs a good level of physical fitness and sturdy pair of shoes.

Brave the undergrowth of the forest as you climb and ascend the undulating terrain before coming face to face with the mountain gorillas.
You will get to witness how these amazing primates live their life as they communicate, feed, laugh, play etc right infront of you.
After the tracking is over, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park and check in by evening.

Day 3: Game Drive & Return to Kampala

• Early morning game drive (6:00 am)
• Wildlife viewing on the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park
• Visit the salt mining lake
• Return to lodge for refreshments and check-out
• Stopover for craft shopping en route to Kampala
• Drop-off at your preferred location

We leave the lodge at 6:00 am for an early gave drive. On this day you get the opportunity to view plenty of wildlife on the savannahs plains of Queen Elizabeth national Park. The park boasts of a variety of game and bird life as well as flora. You may be able to view: elephants, buffaloes, plenty of antelope species, lions, hyenas, leopards and numerous bird species among others.

Visit the salt mining lake
Drive back to the lodge for refreshments and check out

Drive back to Kampala stopping over en route for craft shopping.
Drop off & End of safari.
